Catherine Marie Luedicke Wilems, 69, of Yorktown passed away Saturday Feb. 11, 2017. She was born March 25, 1947 in Cuero, TX to the late Alonzo Otto and Mary (Stepanski) Luedicke. Catherine attended Holy Cross Catholic School in Yorktown for eight years and graduated from Yorktown High School in 1965. After graduation, she began working for the DeWitt County View for eight years and then worked for the Yorktown Bakery, as well as working over the years part time for The DeWitt County View, The Yorktown News and The Treasure Chest.
On Jan. 17, 1976 she was united in marriage with Roylee William Wilems at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Yorktown by Rev. Henry Moczygemba. One daughter was born to their union, Loretta Marie, and they made their home in Yorktown. In her spare time, Catherine loved to play dominoes and go dancing to polkas, waltzes and country/western music around the area with her friends, as well as manicuring her yard and tending to her flowers. She was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roylee William Wilems.
She is survived by her daughter Loretta Marie (Wilems) Bolting and husband Wade of Yorktown, granddaughters Emie Marie Bolting and Katie Carlene Bolting of Yorktown, step-grandchildren, Jennifer Bolting of Hearne, Amanda Bolting Hillyard and husband Frank of Victoria, Christopher Bolting of Victoria, Jana (Wilems) Smart and husband Scott of Westhoff, step-son Francis Roy Wilems and wife Rosalee of Victoria, and special friend Ben Matula of Shiner.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Sunday Feb. 12, 2017 with a rosary stating at 7 pm at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 10 am Monday Feb. 13, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Bolting, Frank Hillyard, August Boldt, Tommy Stehling, Paul Wauson, and Edmund Ferguson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Bolting, Andrew Stepanski, Larry Kozielski, Robert Migura, Emie Bolting, Katie Bolting and Brian Warzecha.
Memorials can be given to Masses, Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery or Yorktown, E.M.S.
