Charles "Scotty" Mapes

Charles Scott Mapes Sr., 80, passed away on June 27, 2016. He was born August 26, 1935 in George West, TX to the late Felix and Mary Ann Gallagher Mapes.

He worked in the oil field. He was employed with Harkins & Co. of Alice, TX from 1958 to 1991.

Scotty is survived by his wife of 57 years Rhoda Beth Chandler Mapes; children Jenifer (Henry) Danysh, Charles (Jessie) Mapes Jr., Denise (Tim) Renfeldt; grandchildren Jonathan Danysh, Tara (Rick) Pickell, Scott Mapes III, Chase Mapes, Chandler Renfeldt and Katherine Renfeldt, Matt (Sara) Strange, and Sean Rasbury; eight great grandchildren; brother Sam (Betty) Mapes, and sister Mary E. Scheiwtzer.

Memorials may be made to donor’s choice.

Graveside 10 am Thursday June 30, 2016 at Gussettville Catholic Cemetery in Live Oak County. Memorial Mass 10 am July 1, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goliad, TX.

Pallbearers will be Tim Renfeldt, Jonathan Danysh, Scott Mapes III, Rick Pickell, Sean Rasbury, Willie Chandler, Greg Wise, Chase Mapes and Ryan Luker.  Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Beyer, Doug Franke, Sharmin Ramsey, Dennis Hatfield, Mike Thomas, Russell Luker, Billy Goynes, Lamar James, Lavern Meyer and Eldridge Chandler.
