Garland (G. G.) Mueller, 82, of Sugar Land, TX passed away July 13, 2016. He was born Sept. 15, 1933 to the late Paul A. Mueller Sr. and Ruby Merle Rangnow Mueller.  He served in the United States Army. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Houston. Garland was an insurance salesperson in Houston for over 55 years. Garland loved nothing better than to spend time at his farm in Yorktown, taking care of his horses, longhorns, other farm animals, farm equipment, and visiting with friends and family. He was a very generous person who never met a stranger and was also willing to help anyone. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Garland and Erna Wagenschein were married on Sept. 22, 1957 in Yorktown.  Garland was a member of the Ticket to Heaven Bible Study Class at Second Baptist Church in Houston. He was a member of the Exchange Club of Houston. Garland served as President & District Director of the Exchange Club, received the Sam W. Tigner Award as Exchangite of the Year. He was instrumental in collecting and distributing turkeys to the needful at Thanksgiving. Sugar Land Exchange Club continues this tradition with their annual “Mueller Turkey Drive.” Garland was also a member of the Gruenau Turn and Schuetzverein.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Erna Wagenschein Mueller of Sugar Land, daughter Debbie (Mike) Moratto of Richmond, son Greg (Vickie) Mueller of Spring, and granddaughters Tori Gascoyne of Houston, Jenna Gascoyne of London, England, Sara (Daniel) Records of Houston and Emily Walling of Spring. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Mokwa) Mueller, along with sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Vi and Leo Ehlinger and Victor and Judy Wagenschein and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Paul Mueller Jr. and wife Willis Mueller and brother Roy Mueller.

Family visitation at 12 noon July 23, 2016 with Memorial service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Massey Funeral Home. Reception to follow.
