Jerry Lynn Clanton, 83 of Yorktown, TX passed away at home on Thursday February 8, 2018.
Jerry was born January 8, 1935 in Ingleside, TX and was raised in Aransas Pass, TX. He served in the Army before moving to Port Aransas, TX where he was a successful business owner and generous provider to his family. He lived in Port Aransas for 40 years before moving to Victoria, TX and then to Yorktown where he lived for the last 10 years. He loved the land and the wildlife in Yorktown. His favorite time of the day was the late afternoon watching the deer from the back porch.
He survived by his wife of 60 years Beverly Ruth Clanton, sons Jerry Scott Clanton of Cuero, TX, Troy Lee (Lynne) Clanton of Manvel, TX, daughter Deanna Linn Clanton of Seguin, TX and brother Dewey Samuel McCulloch of Buda, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren Scott Alan Clanton of Corpus Christi, TX, James Eric Clanton of Victoria, TX, Ross Philip (Megan) MacNames of North Richland Hills, TX and his bonus granddaughter Zoe Clara and bonus great-granddaughter Lux Lee.
He is preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Mona Clanton, his sisters Joy Bates and Sybil Speckels and his grandson Shane Clanton.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Texas Land Owners Association or donor’s choice.
