Norma Marie (Pfeifer) Karnei

Norma Marie (Pfeifer) Karnei, 91, went to her Heavenly home on February 1, 2016.  She was born on May 9, 1924 in Nordheim to Ernst Carl and Emma (Huck) Pfeifer.

She married Calvin Alfred Karnei of Weesatche on November 9, 1947 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Nordheim.

Norma was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church her entire life.  She worked as a housewife for most of her life until she decided to work outside the home at the Yorktown Bakery until 2005. She loved playing bunco with the Bunco Belles.  She was a member of the Nordheim Herman Sons, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and active in Young at Heart.  She loved to watch hummingbirds and to play with her pets over the years.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Karnei of Yorktown and her grandchildren; Stephanie Gaus Schuckenbrock and grandson in law Lucas on Victoria; and Eric Gaus and granddaughter in law Kimberly Rabroker Gaus.  She was loved by her Great-Grandchildren, Gunner Anthony and Austin Barrett Schuckenbrock; and Molly Marae, Abigail Lynn, and Bailey Mae Gaus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Calvin; daughter, Sandra Kay Karnei Gaus and son in law Elwood Barrett Gaus both of Cuero.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Alfred and Alvin Pfeifer and sisters Selma Islet and Hertha Konrad.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 3rd from 5-7 pm at Massey Funeral Home in Yorktown.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 4th at 2 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Nordheim.  Burial to follow at Nordheim Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Nordheim.

Pallbearers will be William Sturm, Eddie Pfeifer Jr., Eugene Hall, Gerald Karnei, Glenn Karnei and Byron Pfeifer
