Sharon Rae Bethke

Sharon Rae Voelkel Bethke, 64, of Nordheim passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017.  She was born in Cuero, TX July 6, 1952 to the late Ray C. and Elenora Stirl Voelkel.

Sharon was married for 42 years to Curtis.  She was a retired social worker who helped many people throughout her 28 years of service.  She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Nordheim, the Nordheim Fire Department, and the Nordheim Garden Club.  Sharon enjoyed the time she spent with the ladies at church putting together the monthly newsletters and participating in many activities throughout the community.   She also loved being outside and working in her many flower gardens while playing with her little dog, Molly.

Sharon was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who was taken away too soon by something she tried but could not control.  Throughout this battle she kept her faith and would want everyone to keep praying for a cure for all types of cancer.  We already knew she was an angel but now she really has become one.

She is survived by her husband Curtis Bethke of Nordheim, sister Lynda Henley of Houston, daughter Vanessa Rae (Eric) Rohan of New Braunfels, and her precious granddaughter Kylie Rae Rohan.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Monday, June 5, 2017 at Massey Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be 10 am Tuesday at Massey Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Nordheim Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Royce Bitterly, Rodney Karnei, Bob Roth, Timmy Voelkel, Jimmy Noster, and Lupe Garcia.  Honorary pallbearer is Kylie Rae Rohan.
