Shirley Jean (Saunders) Schultz

Shirley Jean Schultz, 73, of Yorktown passed into Heaven peacefully in her sleep on Thurs. Feb. 16, 2017. Shirley was born March 20, 1943 in Yorktown, TX to the late Eli and Pauline Ann Machost Saunders. Shirley loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews very much. It was her greatest joy to host the family Easter gathering and Easter egg hunt every year at her home. For many years she was a nurse and owned Caring Nurses, Inc. She loved gardening and cooking. In 1962, Shirley married the love of her life, Norris Jesse Schultz. They were married for 54 years.

She is survived by her husband Norris Schultz, daughter Cindy (Patrick) Matejek, sons Keith (Tami), Kevin (Dinah), Kimeth (Carole) and Kyle Schultz. She is also survived by sisters Bonnie Kellis, Dianne (Norvan) Moore, Sandra (Odell) Johnson, brothers George (Sandy) Saunders and Dennis (Rita) Saunders.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother David Saunders.

Visitation 5-7 pm Monday Feb. 20, 2017 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral service at 11 am Tuesday Feb. 21, 2017 at Massey Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Westside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Saunders Jr., Bo Kinsey, Dillon Kinsey, Kevin Kinsey, Jeff Klein, Gerald Saunders, Robert Fielding and Bobby Hranicky.

Memorials may be given to Yorktown EMS, St. Paul Lutheran Church or donor's choice.
