Bill Stepanski, 64 year old Woodward resident, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in Woodward.  A Rosary and Prayer Vigil and visitation will be held Monday, April 18, 2016 in St. Peter Catholic Church.  The Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 pm; Prayer Liturgy will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by visitation.  Visitation 5-7 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 20 at Massey Funeral Home in Yorktown, Texas.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with  interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yorktown, Texas.  Local arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home and Massey Funeral Home directing the services in Yorktown, Texas. 

 

William Paul “Bill” Stepanski was born on January 29, 1952 in Yorktown, Texas; the son of Paul Stephen and Irene Helen (Dworaczyk) Stepanski.  Bill  graduated from Yorktown High School.  Following graduation, Bill enlisted in the United States Navy.  During his naval career he was stationed as a Submariner in San Diego, California. While in San Diego he met Gwenn.  Bill and Gwenn were married in San Diego, California on December 20, 1974.  After being Honorably Discharged from the Navy, Bill and Gwenn shared many adventurous journeys living in California, Texas, and Oklahoma where Bill retired from CF Industries in February of 2016. 

 

Bill was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.  He was also a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. 

 

Bill is survived by his wife Gwenn; one daughter, Amy Kubelka and husband Gerard of Destin, Florida; five grandchildren; Kevin; Lauren; Anna; Catherine; Genevieve; his mother, Irene Stepanski of Yorktown, Texas; five sisters, Betty Fergerson and husband Edmond of Goliad, Texas; Eva Stehling and husband Tommy of Yorktown, Texas; Lolly Williamson and husband Bruce of San Marcos, Texas; Patty Carothers and husband Todd of Spring, Texas; Angie Stepanski of Yorktown, Texas; three brothers, Thomas Stepanski and wife Bonnie of Yorktown, Texas; John Stepanski of Corpus Christi, Texas; Paul Stepanski, Jr. and wife Tami of Houston, Texas; mother and father-in-law, Ken and Mary Dunnum of San Diego, California; sisters and brothers-in-law, Russ and Bonnie Dunnum of Solana Beach, California; Delores and Phil Zamora of Escondido, California; Chris and Shawn Dunnum of Escondido, California; Tim and Julie Dunnum of San Diego, California; Thom and Marcie Dunnum of Jacksonville, Florida; Mary and Dave Carter of Cardiff by the Sea, California; 45 nieces and nephews; other family and many friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his father and his brother-in-law, Kenny Dunnum.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church (Woodward, Oklahoma) or Holy Cross Catholic Church (Yorktown, Texas) with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
