James "Jim" O'Connell

James "Jim" Joseph O'Connell, 76, of Yorktown, TX passed away on February 18, 2024. He was born on July 31, 1947 to Delores Streckfus O'Connell and Bernard Joseph O'Connell.

Jim graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1965, attended Victoria College and was a business manager for the automotive industry. Having 35 years of service, he served as a Municipal Judge for City of Yorktown, Dewitt County Justice of the Peace and as the Municipal Judge of Karnes City. He was a Master Mason in four area Lodges, Past Master and member of the Knights of the Templar. He also served on the Yorktown city council until his passing.

He is survived by daughter Melissa (Chris) Hosinski, granddaughter Maylee Hosinski, nephew Ryan O'Connell, niece Kathleen (John) Berlanga, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, brother Dennis Michael O'Connell, sister Aline Ward and nephew Jeffrey Michael O'Connell.

Visitation 5-7 pm Friday, March 1, 2024 with a public Masonic memorial service beginning at 6:30 pm at Massey Funeral Home.
