Arlen Paul Mueller, 85, of Meyersville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday Dec. 9, 2017. He was born Sept 15, 1932 in DeWitt County to the late Walter and Elizabeth Seidel Mueller. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Arlen was a dedicated husband, father and friend being baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran, Westhoff. He married Barbara Egg in Meyersville on June 9, 1956. Arlen was a rancher his entire life raising registered & commercial Hereford cattle. He loved all sports and played fast pitch ball in his younger years for the Westhoff and Meyersville teams as their catcher. He served on the St. John church council, served as a Sunday School teacher and on various committees. 4-H was an organization that he supported and was a big part of his children’s childhood. Many life lessons were learned by his children raising and showing livestock. Many of the family’s vacations centered on Junior Hereford field day events all around the state. There was nothing more exciting than going to a cattle auction.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Mueller, children Fred (Sally) Mueller, M’Liss (Robert) Moore, John (Kate) Mueller, Dionis (Glenn) Winsauer and Kurt (Janelle) Mueller, grandchildren Aaron (Marisol) Mueller, Lacey (Cory) Rains, Melanie (Holden) Light, Sydney Moore (fiancée Aaron Schaefer), Julia (Will) Shelburne, Drew Winsauer, Calista Mueller, Camille Mueller, Miranda Mueller and Seth Mueller.
