Catherine Marie (Plasczyk) Bruns

Catherine Bruns, 92, of Yorktown, passed away Saturday Dec. 7, 2019.  She was born March 5, 1927 in Yorktown, TX to the late Walter and Elizabeth Jendrzey Plasczyk.  She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, parent, grandparent and sister. She most enjoyed spending time her family and many friends. She was proud of her role as a homemaker, and enjoyed baking, especially Pecan Pies, best in DeWitt County. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband George Budge Jr. and second husband Carrol Bruns.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Williamson of Victoria B.C. Canada, son George (La Fran) Budge of Yorktown, and sister Julia Janak.  She is also survived by her grandchildren A.J. Williamson and John Logan Budge and great grandchildren Sequoia Williamson and Mayzen Budge.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Wednesday Dec. 11, 2019 at Massey Funeral Home with a rosary starting at 7pm.  Funeral Mass will be 2 pm Thursday Dec. 12, 2019 at Holy Cross Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

A special thanks to Dr. Raymond Reese, the doctors and nurses at Citizens Hospital in Victoria and the caregivers at Yorktown Nursing Home.

Pallbearers will be A.J. Williamson, Gaylon Kaiser, James Kaiser, David Styra, Pete Styra, James Jendrzey and Leon Jendrzey Jr.
