Clara Bell (Seifert) Hengst

Clara Bell Hengst, 89, of Yorktown passed away May 19, 2019. She was born April 2, 1930 in Davy, TX to the late Herman and Annie Strakos Seifert.

She attended school in Davy, then later worked in a little store that her parents owned in Davy as well.

She married Elmer R.A. Hengst in San Antonio where they lived until 1972. They then returned to Yorktown where they lived the remainder of their lives.

Clara Bell had various jobs in her lifetime, but she loved housekeeping the most. She also enjoyed gardening, laughing, dancing, and time spent with family.

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Don) Boles of Hockley TX, Connie Hall, and Rene (Robert) Alvarez all of Yorktown. She is also survived by her 9 Grandchildren: EJ (Cheryl) May, Bobby (Corissa) May, Brad (Sarah) May, Stacy Hutto, Chad (Katie) Newman, Kayla (Eric) Stehling, Trent (Rebecca) Alvarez, Troy (Madison) Alvarez and Trace Alvarez. Also surviving is her 18 Great-grandchildren, brothers AR Sonny (Betty Ann) Seifert, Frankie (Gloris) Seifert and sister Shirley (Flavis) Kozielski.

Clara Bell was blessed with a wonderful caregiver, Estella Garcia.  They formed a special bond over the many years Estella cared for her.

Clara Bell is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather John Siegel, husband Elmer and son Kevin R. Hengst.

Visitation is set for Wednesday May 22nd from 5pm – 7pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 23rd at 10 am. All services to be held at Massey Funeral Home in Yorktown. Interment to follow at Westside Cemetery.

Pallbearers are grandsons and honorary pallbearers are granddaughters.

Memorials may be given to donor’s choice.
