James Stanley

James D. Stanley, 84, of Yorktown passed away Friday July 6, 2018.  He was born May 26, 1934 in Richland, Texas to the late Dorsey and Lottie Curtis Stanley.  He was a 50 year Master Mason, and an avid hunter and fisherman.  His contributions as a coach, educator, principal and mentor were pivotal to many communities throughout Texas. He was a great friend to many.   James enjoyed sitting on his back porch watching all of the wildlife.

He is survived by his children Linda Kovalcik, Debbie Smith, Michael Stanley, Darryl Stanley, step-children Jason Mobley and Kim Jaynes, sisters June Schuman and Bobbie Kochak.  He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jacque Stanley, step-son Scott Jaynes and infant sister Linda Sue Stanley.

Visitation 5-7 pm Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral service 2 pm Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Massey Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to Western Dewitt Wildlife Management Association or donor’s choice.
