Jane (Clark) Haley

Jane Clark Haley passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the age of 86. Jane Haley, daughter of Ewing D. Clark and Lena Crockett Clark was born on June 1, 1929 in Brownsville Texas. She is survived by Husband James (Jimmy) D. Haley, by Daughters Laura Haley Taylor (James) and Debbie Haley Taylor, and by son Clark Haley (Michelle) and by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Son, Patrick Ewing Haley. Jane and Jimmy Haley owned and operated Haley’s Sporting Goods for over 15 years before they retired and sailed away on their beloved “Afterglow,” a Morgan 38 sailboat. For over ten years, they sailed throughout the Bahamas, Mexico and the Caribbean. In 2000, Jimmy and Jane built a home on property they owned in Gillette Texas. They loved the place so much, they made Gillette their permanent residence in 2003.  Family and friends remember Jane as the Admiral of the family. Her love of life, compassion, and appreciation for those around her will be fondly remembered.

A memorial celebration will be held on the family property in Gillette Texas at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10. You are welcome to join the family to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baylor Alzheimer’s Center, http://www.bcm.edu or a foundation of your choice.
