Mary Bell (Brown) Blackwell

Mary Bell Blackwell, 67, of Yorktown passed away Friday August 17, 2018. She was born Nov. 28, 1950 in Yorktown, Texas to the late Horace Sr. and Fannie Bell Beans Brown. Mary Bell married S. K. Blackwell on Feb. 14, 2006. She was a foster parent, member of the Dewitt and Lavaca County Foster Parent Association, and worked at White Top Motel in Yorktown and also had worked at Empresario Restaurant in Goliad, Ruby’s Dinner, Mom’s Kitchen and also worked for Dr. Daniel Dugi and J. E. Wolf Sr.

She is survived by her husband S. K. Blackwell and daughter Ariyana Blackwell, sisters Katherine Brown, Anna Bert Brown, Carol (Donald) Cunningham and brothers Charlie Brown, Albert Lee Brown Sr., Johnny Brown, Allen Ray Brown and Robert Joe Brown Sr. She is also survived by her step children Shirley Blackwell of Brenham, Harold Blackwell of Houston, Debra Blackwell of Cuero and Pam Blackwell of Cuero, aunts Arlene Glen of San Antonio, Martha May Turner of Kileen, sister in law Lisa Sumlin of Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Louis Brown and brothers Horace Jr., Louis and Jimmy Brown.

Visitation 5-7 pm Friday August 24, 2018 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral service 1 pm Saturday August 25, 2018 at Massey Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Upper Yorktown Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tyrone Brown, Joe Cliffe, Ronald Green, Ricky Ortiz, Jode Zavesky and Gerardo J. Zuniga.

Memorials may be given to Blackwell family or donor’s choice.
