Ortencia Vasquez Serrano, 70, of Yorktown passed away Tuesday June 4, 2019. She was born July 24, 1948 in Brownfield, TX to the late Jose and Maria Moreno Vasquez. She was a member of San Luis Catholic Church, was an officer for the Guadalupanas and true to her faith. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, all of the adventures with her friends. She also loved playing bingo, dancing and listening to music.
She is survived by her daughters Rosa Serrano, Irma (Ruben) Garcia, Cynthia (Jerry) Pierce, Jessica (Luis) Herrera and Teresa Serrano (Keith Leister), son Agustin (LeeAnn) Serrano III, 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Carmen (Ynocencio) Garcia and Delores, and brother Frank Vasquez.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Susan Villarreal and Alejandra Vasquez, brother Jesus Vasquez and infant brother Ricardo Vasquez.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday June 7, 2019 at Massey Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be 10 am Saturday, June 8, 2019 at San Luis Catholic Church. Interment will be at San Luis Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Pedro De Hoyos, Jacob Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Steven Herrera, Agustin Serrano IV, Brady Pierce, Jordan Pierce and Jake Provow..
