William “Bill” Earl Kirchoff went to be with his Savior on June 5, 2019 at the age of 87 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 18, 1931 to Adolph and Olga Albrecht Kirchoff in San Antonio, Texas. He was Baptized on February 26, 1934 in Gonzales, Texas; and, confirmed on November 17th, 1946 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Runge, Texas. Bill grew up farming with his family in Runge, TX. He met Dianna Meinen at a dance at the Cottonpatch in Nordheim, Texas in 1951. They married on July 19, 1953 in Nordheim, Texas. Bill and Dianna lived briefly in Runge and then settled in San Antonio and began their family. Bill worked in construction and remodeling in the San Antonio area for 20 years and returned home to the Nordheim area in 1977 and continued working until his retirement. Bill loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. In his later years, he enjoyed tending to his property and gardening. Bill loved growing tomatoes and proudly selling them with his family at the farmers market. He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years and his fur baby Sugar Girl; daughters, Cheryl (Barry) Lindig of Bulverde, TX, Faye (Mark) Turner of Victoria, TX, Debbie Kirchoff of Nordheim, TX; Cindy Shelton of Yorktown, TX; and, son, William (Lynnda) Kirchoff, Jr. of Nordheim, TX; granddaughters, Jaclyn (Steven Cahall) Lindig , Leslie Lindig, Kimberly (Mark) Krisak, Kelsey (Shad) Elrod, Mallory Shelton, Lauren (Dylan) Martin, Brooke (Cody) Lubyinsky, and Leighton Kirchoff; grandsons, Corey Goodale, Lucas (Molly) Turner, Kevin (Tabitha) Owen, Ross (Kimberly) Lindig, Connor Ressman, and Dustin Kirchoff ; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas (Marilyn) Kirchoff; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Travis Goodale; brother, Adolph Kirchoff; and sister, Mary Ann Koehler.
A visitation will be held from 11 am – 1 pm on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Massey Funeral Home, Yorktown, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Randy Bruno officiating.
Pallbearers will be Corey Goodale, Lucas Turner, Kevin Owen, Ross Lindig, Connor Ressman, and Dustin Kirchoff. Honorary pallbearers include Buddy Koehler, Mark Turner, Shad Elrod, Mark Krisak and granddaughters, Jaclyn, Leslie, Kimberly, Kelsey, Mallory, Lauren, Brooke and Leighton.
