Alex Gutierrez

Alex Gutierrez, 88, of San Antonio formerly of Yorktown rode into the sunset on Monday, November 3, 2025. He was born November 25, 1936 in Yorktown to Jesus Sr. and Onorata Saldivar Gutierrez.

He is survived by his daughters, Nelda Sertuche, Yvonne "Bonnie" Gutierrez, and Sue Gutierrez all of Yorktown. He is also survived by granddaughters Sara (Layla) Sertuche and Kristy Sertuche, sister-in-law Amelia Gutierrez and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his daughters Carolina Salinas, brother Jesus Gutierrez, sisters Benina Garcia, Pauline Nunico and Emilia Cortez.

Visitation 5-7 pm Wednesday, November 12, 2025 with Rosary beginning at 7 pm at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral Mass 1 pm Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Reception to follow at Yorktown Community Hall.

Pallbearers will be Jessie Gutierrez, Michael Gutierrez, Joe Garcia, Kenneth Swope, Reuben Flores, David Garcia, Benard Robinson and Tom Lodeweges. Honorary pallbearers are Don Wieland, Truitt Wieland, David Zapata, Joe Morin and his nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to Ernest E. Sertuche Scholarship Foundation, Hospice of South Texas Dornburg Center of Compassion or donor's choice.
