Arvid Gail Sievers, 86, of Yorktown passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023. He was born December 3, 1936 in Yorktown to the late Alvin and Alvera Noster Sievers. Arvid graduated from Yorktown High School, and college at Texas Lutheran University and attended the Texas Arts and Industries College in Kingsville. He married the love of his life Uvalda "Kitty" Kubala on August 26, 1956 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He held many roles through out his life: President of the Yorktown Fire Department, Treasurer of the Yorktown Lions Club, a member of the church council, director of Yorktown Chamber of Commerce and Director of Federal Land Bank for 9 years. Arvid loved riding horses, caring for his cattle and animals. He and Kitty loved to travel.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart of 66 years Uvalda "Kitty" Sievers, children Bonnie (Charles) Riedesel, Kevin (Denise) Sievers and Kyle (Karen) Sievers. He is also survived by his grandchildren Charlie Jo (Chuck) Curry, Nick (Hailey) Riedesel, Danielle (Kevin) Frederick, Mirinda (Chris) Padilla, Alayna (Major Jonathan) Ireland, Aaron (Katie) Sievers, Kelsey (Kevin) Stacy, Ashlynn (Taylor) Quinney, great grandchildren Ryan Curry, Wyatt Curry, August Riedesel, Joyce Riedesel, Wesley Frederick, Jillian Frederick, Matthew Padilla, Jake Sievers, Rhett Sievers, Beau Sievers, Karley Stacy, Kaydence Stacy, Kole Stacy, Blair Quinney and Taylee Quinney.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Marvin and Larry Sievers.
Visitation 1-2 pm Wednesday, April 26, 2023 with Funeral service beginning at 2 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment to follow at Westside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Jo and Chuck Curry, Nick and Hailey Riedesel, Danielle and Kevin Frederick, Mirinda and Chris Padilla, Alayna and Major Jonathan Ireland, Aaron and Katie Sievers, Kelsey and Kevin Stacy and Ashlynn and Taylor Quinney. Honorary pallbearer Mark Sievers.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Yorktown Fireman's Association, Hospice of South Texas or donor's choice.
