Aurelia (Vela) Alvarez

Aurelia Alvarez, 73, of Yorktown passed away on Wed. Oct. 10, 2018. She was born July 16, 1945 in Sinton to the late Leon and Erminia Vargas Vela. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and will be missed dearly by many friends and relatives.

She is survived by daughters Rachel Mendez, Anna (Chris) Perez and Leslie (Juan G.) Alvarez-Lopez. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brandi Mendez, Brittney (Steven) Larabee, Brooke (Jordan) Weise, Alexis Alvarez, Christopher (Ashton)  Perez, Caitlin Perez, Brayden Perez, Kristiana Lopez, Vanessa Lopez, great granddaughter Ella K. Larabee, great grandson Christopher Perez Jr., sisters Natalie Torres, Linda Munoz, Elllie Banda and brother Roland Vela Sr.

She is preceded in death by her parents Leon and Erminia Vela, son Robert Mendez, grandson Tristen Perez and brothers Enrique Vela and Mayo Vela.

Visitation 4-6 pm Sun. Oct. 14, 2018 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral service 11 am Mon. Oct. 15, 2018 at Primera Iglesia Bautista Church. Interment to follow at Yorktown Community Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of South Texas or donor’s choice.
