Betty Jo (Roberts) Caron

Betty Caron, 95, of Yorktown passed away Monday, January 23, 2023. She was born February 20, 1927 in Mountain Home, Arkansas to the late Robert and Ima Kimbrough Roberts. She married the love of her life Ralph Caron on April 9, 1947. She loved to sew, crochet and make quilts. She was an excellent seamstress, could make anything with a needle and thread and won awards with her quilt designs. She was also an avid gardener, who loved to grow beautiful roses, flowers, tomatoes and loved shelling pecans from her trees. She loved to travel in their RV and traveled all across the United States. She had a passion for metal detecting and found a lot of coins and gold jewelry. Also attended churches while traveling and saved the bulletins from each one they visited.

She is survived by her children Ricky (Kay) Caron, Carol (Whitney) Reese, Colleen (Kenneth) Kirchoff, grandchildren Andrea Clarke, Amy Friant, Michael Reese, Michelle Dorrow, Melinda Reese, Matthew Reese and many great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Caron, parents, sisters: Ima Jean Sheppard, Fern Clogston, Violet Peacock, Kathryn Peacock and many friends and relatives.

Visitation 9-10 am Friday, January 27, 2023 with funeral service beginning at 10 am at First Baptist Church of Yorktown. Interment to follow at Westside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Samuel Dorrow, Elijah Dorrow, Mark Wars, Mason Friant, Isaac Rodriguez, and Greg Cartwright.

Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church or donor's choice.
