Byron Cramer, 81, of Yorktown passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024. He was born September 30, 1942 in Yorktown, Texas to the late Henry Cramer and Dorine Boldt Lemke. Byron married the love of his life Barbara Lassman on July 31, 1965 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He loved fishing and his 63’ candy apple red Corvette. He enjoyed playing pool and dominos and watching the Astros, Spurs, and Cowboys. He spent a lot of time taking care of the yard. Byron served in the United States Air Force. He worked for CPL Electric company for 16 years, owned a little grocery store with Barbara for a couple of years called Farmers Merchant. He worked for a few years gauging for the oilfield, and his last job was working as a Corrections officer for TDCJ in Kenedy.
He is survived by his wife, daughters Christine Johnson (Mark Walls), Judy (Ricky) Hilbrich, grandchildren Seth Johnson, Dillan (Jen) Johnson, Russell (Charlie Marie), Christopher (Kirsten) Johnson, Krista (Kyle) Kerlick, Kelsey (Dustin) Kirchoff, Keri (Johnathan) Hilbrich, and Kaiden (Josie) Hilbrich. Byron is also survived by his sister Janis Brzozowski, and great grandchildren Korbin, Kollin, Kru, Cohen, Cole, Callie, Peyton, Mason, Aubrey, Lilly and Sean.
He is preceded in death by his parents, step-father Erwin Lemke, brother Warren Lemke, and son in law William Johnson.
Graveside service 10 am Friday, May 31, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ricky and Kaiden Hilbrich, Seth, Dillan, Russell and Christopher Johnson, Brandon and Caleb Lemke. Honorary pallbearers are Kyle and Krista Kerlick, Kelsey and Dustin Kirchoff, Keri Hilbrich, and all his great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
