Carolina (Gomez) Salinas

Carolina Salinas, 89, of Yorktown passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024. She was born on March 31, 1935 in Nordheim, TX to the late Natividad and Rosaria Gomez. She loved God! She was an active member of the Guadalupanas for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos and spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving, caring, generous mother and her granddaughters were her world.

She is survived by the father of her children Alex Gutierrez, daughters, Nelda Sertuche, Yvonne Gutierrez, Sue Gutierrez of Yorktown, TX brothers Robert Gomez of Victoria, TX and Joe (Jean) Gomez of Kingman, AZ. She is also survived by granddaughters Sara (Layla) Sertuche and Kristy Sertuche.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Beatriz Saenz, brother Alfredo Gomez, son-in-law Ernest Sertuche and sister-in-law Soila Gomez.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Sunday, December 29, 2024 with Rosary at 7 pm at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral Mass 10:30 am Monday, December 30, 2024 at San Luis Catholic Church. Interment to follow at San Luis Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Villa, Jamie Mitol, Kenneth Swope, Robert Gomez Jr, Robert Villarreal, Cameron Gomez, Erik Gomez and Thomas Kraege. Honorary pallbearers David Zapata, Jacob Villarreal her nieces, nephews, and ladies from Guadalupanas society.

Memorials may be given to E. Sertuche Scholarship Foundation or Donor's Choice.
