Obituary

Francisco Vasquez Sr., 86, of Yorktown passed away Sat. Sept. 12, 2020. He was born July 2, 1934 in Yorktown to the late Jose and Maria Moreno Vasquez. He was well known in Yorktown for his carpentry work and strong work ethic in getting the job done right. He was also known for his sense of humor and willingness to always lend a helping hand to those in his community. Francisco or better known as Pancho to his friends and family enjoyed playing bingo and always looking for that big win. He taught his sons the value of a strong work ethic, he taught each of them how to work with their hands and how to build something out of nothing, he taught his children the value of a dollar and that with hard work and dedication you can accomplish anything such as he did by purchasing his own land at the age of 17. He has left a legacy that will live forever in the lives and hearts of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. May he rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon him.

He is survived by his children Gracie Vasquez, Frank (Yolanda) Vasquez Jr., Ricardo (Rosario) Vasquez, Rebecca Vasquez and grandchildren Alexandra Alvarez, Anita Alvarez, Anthony Hernandez, Ashton Hernandez, Anastasia Figueroa, Daizy Figueroa, Francisco Vasquez III, Francisca Vasquez, Daisy Vasquez, Jayce Vasquez, Luis Vasquez, Angel Vasquez, Francisco A. Vasquez, Elizabeth (Abel) Conchola, Ricardo Vasquez Jr., Derrick Vasquez, Xavier Vasquez, Mark (Leslie) Hinojosa, Miranda Hinojosa and great grandchildren Sophie Silgero,  Maliyah Ramos, Maricella Ortiz, Leticia Alvarez, Reigan Alvarez, Lilliana Hernandez, Xavier Vasquez, Destin Conchola, Calista Conchola, Jayla Conchola, Nyia Conchola, Josiah Conchola, Aleigha Conchola, Christopher Vasquez, Josiah Hinojosa, Heaven Hinojosa, Hailey Hinojosa and Jay-Anthony Felix. He is also survived by his sisters Delores Vasquez and Carmen (Ynocencio) Garcia.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jose Vasquez and Maria Vasquez. sisters Susan Villarreal, Ortencia Serrano, Alejandra Vasquez, brother Jesus Vasquez and infant brother Ricardo Vasquez.

Visitation 9-9:30 am Wed. Sept. 16, 2020 with Rosary starting at 9:30 am and Mass following at 10 am at San Luis Catholic Church. Interment to follow at San Luis Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Francisco Vasquez III, Ricardo Vasquez Jr., Anthony Hernandez, Mark Hinojosa, Derrick Vasquez and Xavier Vasquez.

Memorials may be given to San Luis Catholic Church or donor’s choice.
