Gwendolyn Johnson, 97, of Seguin, Tx passed Saturday, June 20, 2026. She was born in Shinewell, OK on March 8, 1929 to Floyd and Midred Davis Cranfill. Gwen loved the Lord, her family, and especially family reunions and playing cards. She loved cooking for her family and is well known for her famous burritos.
Gwen is survived by her daughters Debbie Sturm of Kerrville, TX and Paula Johnson of Branson, MO, sons Ronny (Cheryl) Smith of Mission, TX, LC (Rosanna) Smith of San Antonio, TX, Lester (Donna) Smith of Victoria, TX and Dwight (Debbie) Johnson of Independence, MO, sisters Murriel Parker, and Carolyn Sternberg, 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands (L.C. Smith and Louis Johnson), daughter Cathey Mae, sister Dorothy Morgan, brothers Floyd, Thurman, and LeRoy Cranfill.
Pallbearers will be A.J, Beau, Brandon, Trevor, Ezra, and Hayden.
Visitation will be 10-11 am Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 11 am. Rev. Mark Collins will be officiating. Interment will follow at Westside Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Yorktown -Youth Group or charity of donor’s choice.
