Irene Helen (Dworaczyk) Stepanski

Irene Helen Stepanski, 88, of Yorktown passed away Monday, May 16, 2022.  She was born August 8, 1933 in DeWitt County to the late Leon and Catherine Ibrom Dworaczyk.  She married Paul Stepanski on April 24, 1951 and celebrated 46 years of marriage until his passing in 1997.  She was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, and a 58-year member of Holy Cross Catholic Daughters Court #1598.

Irene was a homemaker, and enjoyed gardening, canning foods, cooking, making quilts, sewing, and pleasing many friends and family members with her delicious fried chicken.

She is survived by her children John Stepanski, Betty (Edmond) Fergerson, Thomas (Bonnie) Stepanski, Eva (Tommy) Stehling, Angie Stepanski, Lolly (Bruce) Williamson, Patty (Todd) Carothers, Paul Jr. (Tami) Stepanski; grandchildren Amy (Gerard) Kubelka, Monica Fergerson, Annette (Sean) Davis, Dorian (Gary) Self, Kelly Weischwill, Jarrod (Nicole) Stepanski, Tara Jo (Charlie) Friesenhahn, Clinton Stehling, Katie (Zach) Young, Eric (Kayla) Stehling, Lance (Marina) Traynham, Kelsie Traynham, Austin Traynham, Stephanie Mattox, Jordan (Sophia) Williamson, Micah (Amy) Williamson, Abigail Williamson, Tanner Carothers, Tyler Carothers, Stephen Stepanski, Morgan Stepanski, Madeline (Roel) Farias, Nephi Stepanski; 29 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son William Stepanski, daughter-in-law Gwenn Stepanski, and sister and brother-in-law Delores and Victor Kolodziejcyk.

Visitation is 5-7 pm with Rosary at 7pm Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Massey Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass is 10am Friday, May 20, 2022 at Holy Cross Catholic Church.  Interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

Irene’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers, and her granddaughters are honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church or donor’s choice.
