Janet Faye (Sievers) Powell

Janet Sievers Powell, 77, of Yorktown passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026. She was born Dec. 26, 1948 in Cuero, TX to Roland and Pauline Lemke Sievers. She married the love of her life Clarence “Sonny” Powell on August 19, 1967.

Janet and two other ladies helped raise over $85,000 to help organize the Yorktown EMS and Yorktown Medical Clinic along with many other community members.

She is survived by her husband Clarence “Sonny” Powell, Alana Powell and wife Erin, grandson Conner Lee Powell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary Lee Sievers, sister Patty Ann Sievers Stewart.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be given to Yorktown EMS, Harbor Hospice or donor’s choice.
