Jerry Chapa Sr., 78, of Cuero passed away Thursday, August 25,2022 peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born December 30,1943 in Tahoka, TX to the late Manuel Sr. and Elodia M. Chapa.
Jerry served in the Army stationed in Germany from 1960-1965. He then married Mary Chapa on July 10, 1965. He worked as a building maintenance manager for CenterPoint Properties in Northlake, IL for 45 years. Jerry loved spending time with all his children, grandchildren and siblings. Some of his favorite things to do was golf, fish and play on his bowling league. He also loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Cubs. He was a very spirited man who was very knowledgeable and will be deeply missed.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 56 years Mary Chapa, children Joann Chapa, Ben Chapa, Jeffery (Amanda) Chapa, Priscilla (Chris) Watson, Deanna Chapa and Heather Chapa; 19 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and his sisters Mary Guerrero and Carmen Lopez.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sons Joey Chapa and Jerry Chapa Jr., and many brothers.
Special Thank you to Hospice of South Texas, Dr. Gonzales and Dr. Willers and to family that cared for him so he could spend his final days at home with family.
Visitation will be 5pm-7pm Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral Service 10am Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
