JoAnn (Hoffman) Young

JoAnn Hoffman Young, 81, passed in Round Rock, TX on March 24, 2022 with her sons at her side. She was born August 25, 1940 in Bisbee, AZ to Eddie and Gladys Hoffman.

JoAnn grew up in Corpus Christi, TX where she met and later married Thomas R. Young. They both attended Ray High School. Later they moved to Laredo, TX and then onto Houston until 1997. In April 1997 they retired in Yorktown, TX and built their home on family land where JoAnn made girlhood imaginary castles. JoAnn had a Master's degree in astronomy from the University of Houston. She lived in College Station, TX while Tom attended A&M and always felt first and foremost, she was an AGGIE, WHOOP!! She was a retired school teacher, mostly focused on science.

JoAnn was a strong Christian and felt that one makes the decision to be happy every day. She lived life big, loved her family, to travel and had a huge fondness for reading. She was lovingly referred to by her family as JaJa. Her constant reminder was "no precupes" (don't worry). She was always so supportive and available to her family, so full of love and loyalty.

JoAnn is survived by her 2 sons, Tommy and Joe, 4 grandchildren: Taylor, Mady, Drew, Peyton and younger brother Ronnie Hoffman of Sunrise Beach, TX.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband Tom Young and parents.

Visitation 1-2 pm Thursday, March 31, 2022 with Funeral Service beginning at 2 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial to follow at St. Paul Lutheran cemetery.
