Junell “Nellie” Goehring, 86, of Yorktown, passed away July 12, 2020. She was born June 9, 1934, in Cabeza, TX to the late Arthur and Frieda Wunderlich Buendel. She met her life partner Daniel at Fannies while serving him a meatless burger and married him at St. Paul Lutheran Church on June 7, 1950. She was a caring housewife who loved traveling, driving to Colorado, and going to parades all over south Texas. She loved doing jigsaw puzzles, making homemade fudge, taking pictures where ever she went, and taking care of her kitties. Junell was the 2020 Valentine Queen at Cuero Nursing and Rehab. She was 66 year member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, confirmed on April 11, 1954, and active with various circle prayer groups. She had a great love for her grandchildren, caring for them in their early years.
Junell is survived by her husband of 70 years Daniel Goehring, daughter Evelyn Aguilar of San Antonio, son in law David Aguilar of San Antonio, granddaughter Desiree (Paul) Musser Martinez, grandson Randy Aguilar, and great-granddaughter Belen Aguilar. She is also survived by her sister Helen Breed of Victoria, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, grandson Troy Edward Musser, sister Norma Lee Friesenhahn, and brothers Samuel Kyrisch and Benedict Jr. Kyrisch.
Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Franke, Wesley Wisian, James Schroeder, Steven Friesenhahn, Terry Tennell and Wesley Metting.
The family will hold a private graveside service at Westside Cemetery.
