Katherine Brown

Katherine Brown, 78, of Yorktown passed away January 23, 2025. She was born December 20, 1946 in Yorktown, Tx, to Horace Brown Sr. and Fannie Bell Bean Brown.  She was the third child out of 12.

Katherine was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She worked at the Green Lantern restaurant for many many years, was also a Certified Nurses Aid and a caregiver.

 Katherine is survived by her children: Rita Brown (Larry Mathis), Sam Brown, Hope Brown and Tyrone Brown. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jalen Mathis, Christopher Brown, Jarius Herring and Mark Bigham, and her siblings Anna Bert Brown, Carol Cunningham, Albert Lee Brown Sr, Johnnie Brown, Allen Ray Brown, and Robert Joe Brown.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Marcellus Green, grandson Caleb Stewart, siblings: Charlie Brown, Horace Brown Jr., Louis Brown, Jimmy, and Mary Blackwell.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Thursday January 30, 2025 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday January 31, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jermaine Rice, Jimmy Alexander, Bobby Strieber, Rene Hernandez, Thomas Kraege, Jerry Pierce and David Hagen.  Honorary pallbearers will be David Styra, Mark Weischwill, Dr. Dan Dugi, Thomas Williams, Donald Cunningham, Dennis Johnson, Ronald Green, Robert Brown Jr., Ben Ziese and her four grandsons, Jalen Mathis, Christopher Brown, Jarius Herring and Mark Bigham.

Memorials can be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
