Lottie Wojtasczyk, 93, of Yorktown, passed away at home on Saturday, October 30, 2021. She was born February 1, 1928 in Cestohowa to the late Bruno and Rufina Sczepanik Kyrish. Lottie was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She worked at the Yorktown Memorial Hospital for many years as a nurse's aide. Once the hospital closed, she worked at 'Our House Assisted Living' facility and the Yorktown Nursing Home. She was very proud to live in her own home and loved her flowers in her yard and ' tchotchkes' (nick-nacks) that she collected. Lottie enjoyed being around her family as well as her cat, Prissy.
Lottie is survived by her children: Kathy Hengst, Virgie Toller, David (Scott Holter) Wojtasczyk, and Frances (Wayne) Gathright, grandchildren: Marcia Montes, Ken Krause, Kris (Priscilla) Wiggins, Lindsey Wiggins, Nathan (Paris) Gathright, and Kristen Gathright. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Cody (Liz) Montes, Andrew Montes, Lincoln Wiggins, Ella Wiggins, and great-great-grandson Mason Montes.
She is preceded in death by her late husband Benard Wojtasczyk, her parents, and several siblings.
Pallbearers are Nathan Gathright, Kris Wiggins, Cody Montes, Andrew Montes, Ken Krause and Wayne Gathright. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Holter, and Roel Chacon.
Memorials may be given to Holy Cross Catholic Church, Alzheimer's Association or Donor's Choice.
The family would like to thank mom's neighbor, Roel Chacon, for always checking on mother, and being a faithful, and loyal friend. The family also wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to mom's care givers. Estella Garcia took excellent care of mom for a long time on weekdays. Louisa Alvarez began taking care of mom on weekends a few months ago. We appreciate their care and service to our mom.
Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 pm Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Massey Funeral Home. The rosary will begin at 1:30 pm and Funeral service at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Father Francis Nguyen will be officiating.
