Lydia Soliz Obituary

Lydia G. Soliz, 67, of Yorktown left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on Wed. Nov. 3, 2021. She was born March 15, 1954 in Yorktown to the late Antonio Sr. and Sofia Garza Garcia. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. Lydia was born and raised in Yorktown, TX, she worked as migrant worker in Ohio and Michigan with her family for years in the summer. She was a 1973 graduate of Yorktown High School.

Lydia enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved country music especially George Strait. She loved road trips and adventures that involved visiting family from all over! She devoted her life to raising and taking care of her children and family. She will be missed by many and her memory will continue through her family.

She is survived by her children Melinda (Eric) Fitts, Yvonne (William) Ruiz, Ruben (Stephen) Soliz Jr, Laura Soliz, Herlinda (Jesus) Gutierrez, grandchildren Ashley Fitts, Courtney Soliz, Arianna Ruiz, Jaelyn Soliz, Cameron Ruiz, Ethan Fitts, Jayce Soliz, Adalyn Gutierrez and great-granddaughter Mila Garcia. She is also survived by her siblings Antonio Jr. (Lupe) Garcia, Oralia Garcia, Sofia Garcia, Rosalinda (Joe) Ochoa, Raul (Yolanda) Garcia, Rudy (Teresa) Garcia, Daniel Garcia, Mary Helen (Gilbert) Garcia and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Esther Martinez and Esparanza Garcia.

Visitation 4-6 pm Sun. Nov. 7, 2021 with Rosary at 6 pm at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral Mass 10 am Mon. Nov. 8, 2021 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment to follow at San Luis Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Cameron Ruiz, Ethan Fitts, Jayce Soliz, Jonathan Garcia, Daniel Garcia, Donovan Garcia and Aaron Garcia.

Memorials may be given to Holy Cross Catholic Church or donor's choice.
