Mary "Mickie" (Monecke) Pfeifer

Mary “Mickie” Pfeifer, 82, of Nordheim passed away Friday, January 20, 2023. She was born August 10, 1940 in Runge, Texas to August and Grace Mueller Monecke. She graduated from Runge High School. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Nordheim, co-owner of Broadway Grocery Store for 43 years, co-owner of Broadway Bar for 19 years and member of the Nordheim Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years. She worked for Germania Ins. for 30 plus years, president of the Women’s Auxiliary and a member of the Garden Club.

She is survived by her children Ronnie (Kim Uresti) Pfeifer, Melanie (Chris) Mica, Carolyn (Jesse) Rios and grandchildren Kimberley (Ruben) Ramirez, Dennis (Holly) Pfeifer, Katrina (Curt) Siefken, Cailin Mica, Colby (Paige) Mica, Kylie Mica, Bailey (Josh) Olds, Brooke Elizondo, Amanda (Jeremy) HIcks, Adriana Rios, and Jessica Rios. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Hana Ramirez, Matthew Ramirez, Haizlee Pfeifer, Wrenlee Pfeifer, Everett Olds, Collin Olds, brother-in-law Gilbert (Mary) Pargmann, sister-in-law Doris Pfeifer and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Elo Pfeifer, son Bobby Wayne Pfeifer, sister Karen Monecke, brothers-in-law Milton Pfeifer, Eddie Pfeifer, Erwin Pfeifer and sisters-in-law Mary Ann Pfeifer, and Mary A. Pfeifer.

Visitation 10-11 am Monday, January 23, 2023 with funeral service beginning at 11 am at Massey Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Nordheim Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church-Nordheim, Nordheim Volunteer Fire Department or donor’s choice.
