Monnie Riedel, 50, of Yorktown passed away Tues. Feb. 5, 2019. He was born Oct. 4, 1968 in Cuero to Jeanie Riedel and the late Tommy Riedel. He married Melissa Sixtos on April 27, 2001 in Cuero, TX. He worked for Helmerich & Payne Drilling. He was an active member with the Yorktown Fireman’s Association. His biggest hobby was playing golf.
He leaves behind his wife Melissa Riedel, daughter Crystal (Ryan) Mehal, son Dusty (Kandis) Riedel. He also leaves behind his mother Jeanie Riedel, sister Raychel Ellis of Keller, brother Brandon Riedel of Port Aransas, nephews Josh Ellis of Dallas and Zac (Brittany) Ellis of Midland.
He has gone to join his father Tommy Riedel, his paternal grandparents Leslie & Jane Riedel, maternal grandparents Monnie & Emerence Wolpman and his “bestest” friend Rylyn (Bubba).
Visitation 5-7 pm Fri. Feb. 8, 2019 with a Rosary at 7 pm at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral Mass 1 pm Sat. Feb. 9, 2019 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church 309 E. Church St. Cuero, TX 77954. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery 900 North Valley St. Cuero, TX 77954.
Pallbearers will be Kurt Forester, Phil Hughes, Michael Alvarez, Troy Alvarez, Shane Moore, Phillip Silgero, Robbie Villa and Anthony Sangster. Honorary pallbearers will be Yorktown Fireman’s Association, Terry Barker, Lloyd Baxter, Jason Ford, Jason Milliorn, Clayton Langdon, Gasper Cantu, the rest of his H & P buddies and country club golf friends.
