Paul H. Menn, 75, of Yorktown, went to be with Jesus on August 16, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born December 10, 1945 in Temple to Robbie and the late Reverend Will Paul Menn. As the son of a Presbyterian Preacher, Paul moved around in Texas quite a bit, making new friends wherever he went. He graduated from Pleasanton High School and continued his education by earning a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Southwest Texas State University in 1968.
Paul married Paulette Broom on July 18, 1970. They started their family in 1974, raising three daughters, Julie, Amy and Becky. Though he was a man’s man, Paul embraced the family of girls.
After a few years of teaching, Paul began his career in 1974 for the Texas Department of Health, Meat Safety Assurance Program, first as a Meat Inspector, then as a Supervisor of Meat Inspectors, teaching butcher classes. He retired in 2003.
While holding a full-time job, Paul raised and tended to his herd of cows, garden, shop and many other interests. Ever a can-do Man, no job was too big or too tough for him. He rarely sought professionals for handiwork, auto work, and the like.
Paul became a grandfather in 2003, with Conley Paul Carter, and later added twin granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Madilyn. He was a proud Grampy, taking his beloved grandchildren on the tractor and out on the ranch.
Paul was no push over, but he was a generous, kind, witty and principled man. He was admired and adored by his family.
Paul is survived by his mother, Robbie Menn, brother, William Gardner Menn, wife of 51 years, Polly Menn, his mother-in-law, Lillian Broom, and three daughters, Julie Carter (Chris) of Houston, Amy Burnes (Joseph) of Lockhart, and Rebecca Nelson (Ed) of Yorktown. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Conley, Katie and Maddie Carter.
Paul is preceded in death by his father, the late Reverend Doctor Will Paul Menn.
