Peter Joseph Bedynek

Peter Joseph Bedynek, 89, of Yorktown, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023. He was born August 2, 1933 in Stoneham, TX to Frank and Hattie Sowa Bedynek. Pete worked many years in the oilfield. On his days off, from the oilfield, he would always find something to work on or something to fix, either for himself or someone else. He wasn’t one to just lay around and do nothing. He loved to “piddle” with things and get them working again. And if he decided he didn’t need it, he would find someone to give it to. He could be described as hardworking, helpful and giving. Some of his hobbies were gardening, small engine repair, feeding the ducks/geese at the park, watching westerns and fishing.

He is survived by his daughter Sandra Worsham of Danville, VA, sister Lily H. Lawson.  He is also survived by five grandchildren Trenton, Kyndal, Chandler, Cameron and Jayden and two great grandchildren Silas and Lincoln and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruby Bedynek, siblings Frank W Bedynek, Stanley J. Bedynek, Gertrude V. Simmonds, Annie Grabb and Mary M. Burnett.

Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 pm  Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Massey Funeral Home. Graveside will follow visitation at Westside Cemetery.
