San Juanita “Janie” Arguellez, 72, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 19, 2025 after a lengthy battle with metastatic cancer. Janie was born on December 12, 1953 to the late Jose and Santos Mendoza Rosales. Growing up she attended Karnes City Public Schools and proudly graduated from Karnes City High School. During that time, she met the love of her life Porfirio Arguellez Jr. They created and built a bond like no other and were married in unity on June 9, 1973. Janie attended both Bee County College and Wharton County College pursuing a degree in education. She was employed at the Yorktown Independent School District for 27 years but pursued further employment with the state of Texas working within Health and Human Services as well as Child Protective Services Departments. Through her career she was a dedicated employee and always gave more of herself.
Through her life Janie was a loving/determined individual, she was the backbone of her family. Her work ethic was that of no other, she was constantly on the move and ensuring everything was taken care of. She was always ready for a vacation or the occasional random trip where shopping could take place. She enjoyed watching westerns and documentaries on TV. She had a magical hand in making dressing for Thanksgiving. She had a timeline for everything that took place and was always ahead of schedule, being late was a pet peeve.

John 14:1-3; Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
