Shirley Ann (Kerlick) Jendrzey

Shirley Ann Jendrzey, 78, of Yorktown passed away Monday, December 30, 2024. She was born September 17, 1946 in Dewitt County to Vernon and Annie Newman Kerlick. She married the love of her life Glenn Jendrzey on November 4, 1967 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Yorktown. Shirley was a very dedicated Nanny, and also known as “Nanny” to Madison’s friends. She also loved her animals and had a heart of gold when it came to her family; they always came first. She was an excellent cook. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to bingo and casinos with her mother and sister.

She is survived by her granddaughter Madison Gwosdz, sister Barbara Kerlick, son-in-law Alton Gwosdz, Aunt Ruth Newman, brother-in-law Ralph (Gail) Jendrzey. She is also survived by nephews and nieces Amber (Daniel) Rios, Joel (Laura) Jaeger, Jeffrey (Sarah) Jendrzey, Kristin (Kevin) Gibson, and numerous family members and friends.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn Jendrzey, daughter Monica Gwosdz and grandson Jordan Gwosdz. She is also preceded in death by uncles; Buddy Newman, Ernest Kerlick, Edwin (Doris) Kerlick, Anton (Norma) Kerlick, Aunts: Elnora (Henry) Slanina, Josephine (Leonard) Boysen and sister-in-law JoAnn (Marvin) Jaeger.

Graveside service 1:30 pm Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials can be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
