Verlie (Riemenschneider) Yoast

Verlie Riemenschneider Yoast, 90, went to her forever home in heaven on Monday, September 25, 2023.  Verlie was born on June 4, 1933 to her parents Adolph Gus Riemenschneider and Meta Friedrichs Riemenschneider.

Verlie attended school in Weesatche and Goliad, Texas.  She married Roland Koenig and raised a family in Yorktown, Texas where she dedicated her life to children and family while sharing her gifts as a talented seamstress, working in the upholstery business and continuing to give her most precious time to her cherished family.  Some of Verlie’s most treasured things in life included taking care of others, always providing the best food to anyone who was hungry, giving honest advice you didn’t always know you needed, dancing, George Strait and the Dallas Cowboys.  Above all, she loved Jesus and her family.

She is survived by her sister, Virginia Potcinski; and children, Linda (Allen) Duderstadt, Kenneth (Lisa) Koenig, Michael Koenig, Charlotte Smith and Bill Yoast.  She is also survived by her grandchildren: Robin (Pat) Knipling, Marshall (Kay) Moore, Chris Danysh, Brandy Danysh, Jeff (Alicia) Koenig, Ryan Koenig, Plenty (Allan) Williamson, Astin Perez, Alicia Smith, Jeremy Smith, Nikole Smith, David Smith, Joshua Smith, Jodi (Celina) Yoast, Joshua Yoast and Missy Yoast.  She was also survived by 19 great grandchildren, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and many other special family members and friends.

Verlie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Yoast; children, Ronald Koenig and Debra Danysh; brothers, Charles, Leory, Adolph, and Dixon Riemenchneider; sisters Ailene Reitz, Gladys Finto; Lou Gruetzmacher and Ruby Stearns.

Visitation will be held from 10-11am, Saturday October 7, 2023 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Weesatche, Texas.  Funeral services will begin at 11am, followed by interment of ashes at the Weesatche Cemetery and a reception at the St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church Parish Hall. 

Memorial donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church or the Weesatche Cemetery.
