William Sherman Hawkins

William Sherman Hawkins of Leonard, Texas passed away March 7, 2021 at the age of 50.  He was born on May 28, 1970 to Ronald Alexander Hawkins and Robin Lea (Stebleton) Hawkins.  William served his country proudly in the United States Air Force and the United States Army.  He married Barbara Ann Gonzales on June 28, 1997 in Denton, Texas.  William worked for Pepsi Co. for 25 years.  He enjoyed working with his hands especially farming and woodworking.  William was a devoted member of St. Gabriel The Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Barbara Ann Hawkins of Leonard, Texas; son, Robert Alexander Hawkins of Lubbock, Texas; daughter, Rebecca Ann Roper of Japan; granddaughter, Anna Elizabeth Roper; father, Ronald A. Hawkins of Seminole, Oklahoma; mother, Robin Hawkins of Leonard, Texas; sisters, Marsha Aaron of McKinney, Texas, Ronica Rhude of Platte City, Missouri, Leslie Cain, Laura Ward, and Lindsey Arnold, all of North Carolina; and a host of other loving family and friends.

William was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lee Hawkins.

A “come and go” visitation was held on Wednesday evening, March 10, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.   

A visitation will be held Sat. March 13, 2021 at 9-10:30 am with Rosary beginning at 10:30 and Funeral Mass at 11 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment to follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Nordheim.
