Jeffery Glynn Johnston

Jeffery Glynn Johnston, 54, of Nordheim Texas passed away Tuesday Nov. 29, 2016.  Jeff was born on June 4, 1962 in Dallas Texas to the late Milton and Sandra Jones Johnston, the youngest of three boys.  

When Jeff was young, he spent his summers at his grandparents’ home helping his grandfather (the late Henry Jones) at his service station.  Jeff spoke with great affection when recalling his memories of those summers.  Always willing to work hard, Jeff worked at Dell Taco during high school and graduated from Klein High in Spring Texas in 1980. A few years later he began a career in commercial insurance where he became an underwriter and later a business owner. He spent roughly 30 years in the industry and was passionate about his job. 

Although he very much enjoyed his work, Jeff’s true love was his family.  He married Sarah Anna Salyer in 1994 and they have two sons, Blake Wade and Caymann Glynn.  Jeff insisted early on that his boys should grow up to be great men.  He made sure they knew how to work with their hands passing down his immense knowledge of everything mechanical, always teaching by example. One of his favorite places in the world was on the seat of a tractor, a place where he spent a great deal of time in the last few years of his life. Another one of Jeff’s great passions was spending time and traveling with his wife and children, making many great memories along the way.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Sarah Johnston of Nordheim and his sons Blake and Caymann.  He is also survived by his brother, David Johnston (wife Carolyn) of Anchorage, Alaska, their children, David Kyle (wife Katie) and Katelyn Johnston and his brother Chris Johnston (wife Kyoko) of Savannah, Georgia and their daughter Marina.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held 10am Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 at Massey Funeral Home.
