Joel and family, you are in our thoughts and prayers. I remember hanging out at the store and your mom keeping an eye on everything. Always something going on with a lot of interesting characters hanging out. I remember those times like they happened yesterday. JoAnn will forever be in our heart and memories.

So sorry for your loss. You are right--she was the glue for so many things "Yorktown." She was helpful to me on a number of occasions and I viewed her as a mentor in my high school days. She leaves a big void but sounds like she paid it forward to where life going forward is absolutely better b/c of her.

Many happy memories of JoAnn - we played a lot of dominoes with her and Fr. Donald. JoAnn and Elaine were the reason I was in the choir while we lived in the Cotton Path area outside of Yorktown. She was always such a sweet person and I loved to hear her play the organ. She was a great quilter which I never mastered, added to the annual quilt raffle each year, she was one of the ladies who taught me how to tie a sausage! We had great times at the annual festival. She may be with the angels, but her memory will last a very long time. Peace to all the family as she rests in peace.

Joel, you and your family have my deepest sympathy in the loss of your mom. She always greeted you with a warm hello and a radiant smile. Definitely a lady who loved her church as she served it well. Apparently from your statement she instilled in you some of her strongest traits. Cherish the memories you shared with her and continue to make her proud of the young man she reared. God bless you and your family.
