Myles Pattillo, 83, of Yorktown, passed away in his home Friday Dec. 22, 2017 after a long illness. He was born June 27, 1934 in Union Valley, Texas to the late Will and Opal Benton Pattillo. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, a 50 year member of Cameron Lodge #76 A.F. & A.M., 50 year member as a 32 degree Scottish Rite and a 49 year member of the Yorktown O.E.S. #945. Myles graduated from Nixon High School in 1953 and joined the US Navy. He served four years in the Navy stationed at Point Mugu and then transferred to Japan. He was an honorary Choctaw Chief. He loved horseback riding, enjoyed many trail rides in Texas and Oklahoma, and working with cattle on many ranches in Yorktown, and enjoyed sitting at the Dairy Queen drinking coffee with the boys. Myles and Leta came to settle in Yorktown in 1964.
He is survived by his wife Oleta Merle Pattillo, son Michael Ray (Kathy) Pattillo, sister June Harborth. He was Papaw to his grandchildren Kelly (Larry) Gonzales, Michael Victor (Kim) Afflerbach, Lindsay (Bobby) West and Veronica Welch and 16 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step mother, Ruby Pattillo, infant son, daughter Belinda Pattillo Afflerbach, brother-in-law Donald Harborth, niece Donna Dooly, grandson Gabriel Green and great grandson Jeremiah David West.
Visitation will be 1-2 pm Tuesday Dec. 26, 2017 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 pm Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017 at Massey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
