Wilbert E. Hengst, 79, of Yorktown passed away Monday Aug. 31, 2015. He was born Nov. 15, 1935 in Yorktown to the late Edwin and Lydia Hengst. He worked as a counselor at Devereux for 15 years, worked in the oilfield and worked at Walmart for 17 years.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years Kathy Hengst, sons Ronald Hengst and wife Leann, Michael Hengst and wife Linda, Rick Hengst and wife Mary and Mark Hengst and wife Jenna; stepchildren Marcia Montes and husband Roger and Ken Krause; sister Inez Bues; brother in law James Alston and son in law Kevin Kelso several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and of course his loving pets Sassy (Shihzu), Paco (Chihuahua) and Missy the cat.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Mary Gayle Kelso and sister Doris Alston.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday Sept. 4, 2015 with rosary at 7 pm at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 11 am Saturday Sept. 5, 2015 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
